At 7km from Sertã, the county seat and 70km from Castelo Branco, its district, the parish of Várzea dos Cavaleiros is located between the streams of Sertã and Isna, tributaries of the river Zêzere and bathed by the Tamolha stream, where several river beaches with unique characteristics are inserted.

It has an area of about 40 km², and a population of about 1,500 inhabitants.

Its name is linked to a battle in the time of D. Afonso III against Castile, in which our brave knights of the Order of the Hospital won. The land, until then called only Várzea, is now called "dos Cavaleiros".

Area with a lot of history and owner of a beauty and a tremendous tranquility.
