A few km from the city of Tomar this is undoubtedly the ideal location for your project.

Surrounding area:

The municipality of Tomar is bordered to the north by the municipality of Ferreira do Zêzere, to the east by Abrantes, to the south by Vila Nova da Barquinha, to the west by Torres Novas and to the northwest by Ourém.

The town has several historical monuments, among which stand out the Convent of Christ, declared a World Heritage Site, the Church of São João Batista, the Church of Santa Maria dos Olivais and the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição which was built as a royal pantheon. It also has the Convento de São Francisco which has a Mannerist chapel, the Convento de Santa Iria and the Ermida de São Gregório which has a circular architectural structure.

Tourism is now a major activity since the Convent of Christ, the city's main monument, was considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.

It was once an industrial centre, with paper mills, spinning mills, wood derivatives and other activities.

Commercially, the town still hosts most of the services linked to its industrial past, but new offers are appearing in the tourist niche, such as new generation handicrafts, quality gastronomy and specialised tourist assistance. The land is relatively fertile and is mainly devoted to irrigated maize, olive groves and vineyards.

The city and the municipality of Tomar are crossed by the river Nabão, which is a tributary of the river Zêzere, and is included in the hydrographic basin of the Tagus, the largest river in the Iberian Peninsula.
